When an instructor chooses to utilize a Random Block in a test, a group of questions are issued randomly to students based on the instructor's criteria. The instructor chooses the quantity of questions issued to the student. Learn more about Random Block questions.
The directions below do not include the creation of a pool of questions, rather assumes the existence of the pool.

Enter the course

Select Control Panel > Course Tools > Tests, Surveys and Pools > Tests > Build Test
Step 3
Title the test in the Name field
Type details in the Description field
Type details in the Instructions field
Select Submit
Step 4
Select Reuse Questions > Create Random Block
Step 5
In the Choose Criteria column, place a check to the left of the pool
In the Choose Criteria column, place a bullet to the left of All Pool Questions, or;
Place a check to the left of the specific question type(s) needed
Select Submit
Step 6
Type a quantity in the Number of Questions to display: field
Select Submit
Step 7
Type a point value for each question in the Random Block in the Points per question: field
Select Submit
Step 8
Repeat Steps 4 - 7 for each Random Block required for this test
Step 9
Select OK
